3D Hologram Technology in Healthcare

Image
Welcome To The Future. Did you know that we can now see inside of the human body without having to cut someone open! For years doctors have only been able to look at medical scans, like CT's or MRI's on their computers. Now, an Israeli company has developed a 3D holographic technology that can convert the 2D medical imaging data into fully interactive virtual reality images. With this new technology, doctors can view, manipulate and dissect body parts that are recreated in midair above the desktop. President and Co-founder  Shaul Gelman of RealView Imaging LTD says the system operates by using data analysis and densed projection of light. Measurements and dimensions produced by x-rays, MRI or ultrasound images create the hologram and technology that uses light-scattering to project the image onto a fixed point. Now this is unlike your typical 3D movie where you put those red and blue glasses on, this actually creates a real image not an illusion. This 3D imaging is go...

3D Bioprinting Technology

Welcome To The Future. Did you know that we can now design human body parts and have a machine print it in 3D! I find this absolutely incredible. We live in the age of all this new technology coming out and seeing how it works and the benefits it has. 3D printing has been around for almost two decades, but just recently in the past couple of years scientists and researchers have found a way to use this technology to start printing human tissues and small organs like an ear.  A man named  Erik Gatenholm, the chief executive and co-founder of a small Swedish company called Cellink, has done just that! Bioprinting is technology that allows you to print human cells together with a bioink material that Erik has made that the cells thrive within. Erik's bioink material is made from cellulose sourced from the Swedish forests, and alginate (cells that form a gummy substance) formed from seaweed in the Norwegian Sea.  They need this material around them so it can mimic th...
